Fashion industry trade show expands to Nashville
 

Coast, a contemporary men's and women's fashion trade show based in Miami, will expand to Nashville this fall.

The trade show, which is expected to draw over 200 exhibitors, will be Nashville's first professional trade show, and will allow local designers to connect with buyers and retailers from across the region. The lack of a formal channel like a trade show to help build connections has been cited as an obstacle among the local fashion industry and brands.

"This show will allow our participating brands to gain access to wholesale buyers from all over the country," said Van Tucker, CEO of the Nashville Fashion Alliance, in a news release. The NFA is a local industry trade group that launched earlier this year to promote and advocate for the fashion industry. One of the group's primary goals is to bring more industry events to the city.

Coast is scheduled to take place Oct. 5 and 6 at Track One, a warehouse event venue in Wedgewood-Houston. According to the news release, Coast holds four trade shows in Miami annually, and has also held regional events in Chicago and Boston.

"Expanding Coast to Tennessee is a great opportunity to host and introduce established designers to a new large region of retailers," said Coast founder Karen Bennett in the release. "Our open booth format is affordable for local and emerging designers and showrooms to participate."
